

Special requirements
If you have low vision or other special requirements, find out how your test venue can help to support you on test day.
Whether you are vision impaired, have a speech impediment or any other medical condition which means you can only take IELTS under special arrangements, IELTS test venues across our network can help you.
We can offer braille paper, modified larger paper, enlarged written prompts on the Speaking task card, special Listening test, lip reading version of Listening test, special amplification equipment, word processing software and voice-activated software.
It is best to contact us before booking your IELTS test and we will be able to advise you on the next available test dates. The notice time can vary depending on the modifications needed to your test.
If you require a modified version of the test please contact us with at least three months' before your test date. This notice period is necessary for the modified test version to be prepared.
If your circumstances require special administrative arrangements to be made, e.g. extra time, you must contact us with at least six weeks' notice. You will need to provide a medical certificate issued within the last two years in English at the time of registration to the office.
We need evidence of disability
• The evidence needs to be provided English. In case of a greek medical report, a summary in English is required. There's no need for a certified translation.
• The evidence should be an original document on headed paper, and bearing the name, relevant qualification/s and signature of a recognised, qualified professional.
• The evidence should give a clear statement of the candidate’s disability.
• The evidence should make it clear how the disability justifies Special Arrangements.
Additional criteria apply in the case of applications for Special Arrangements for candidates with specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia):

The evidence must be in the form of a letter or report prepared when the candidate was aged 13 or older.

The evidence must include details of the degree of disability.

The letter or report must include an assurance that the evidence of specific difficulties was obtained through the results of appropriate and recognised tests and the tests used must be stated.

The evidence must be provided by a fully qualified educational, clinical or chartered psychologist, or other appropriately-qualified specialist assessor.
